Sun Shard is a rock trinket added in The Reheated Update.

Effects

• Grants an organ orbital that blocks enemy projectiles, deals contact damage equal to half Golem's damage, and changes into one of 3 forms each room.
• The organ has special effects upon being hit by a projectile, based on its form:
  • Venus (The Brain): Spawns a friendly Brain that is smaller in size and has 10 HP.
  • Earth (The Kidney): Retaliates with a stream of projectiles that deal 1/3 of Golem's damage.
  • Neptune (The Heart): Speeds up in its orbit, constantly trailing creep and spewing close range projectiles while doing so.

Interactions

• Trinket Multipliers / Henge Rock: Increases the amount of different orbitals Sun Shard grants, up to a maximum of 3 for all orbitals to appear at once. Also multiplies the health of the Brain spawned by Venus.
• Azurite Spindown: Using Azurite Spindown on Sun Shard rerolls it into Spirit Urn.

• Sun Shard and its various planetoids are a reference to the The Sun and her various planets, Venus, Earth and Neptune.
